Hobble, Wobble and FUN!

I am ba-ack... well I am going to at least give it a shot. I want to be back. I have missed blogging, but want you to know that I have still been faithfully reading YOUR blogs! You know what they say "When life throws you lemons, make lemonade". Well... I had a few very large lemons thrown at me and they may have left marks... BUT... I am finally squeezing the hell out of those suckers and lemonade it will be someday :)

How are you all doing?

Things have been hectic to say the least. I have a lot of things I want to write about. I had such a great weekend that I feel I really need to talk about it. First of all, a few months ago my sister in law talked me into signing up for a half marathon. "It's mostly down hill, can't be that hard" she says. I am no runner, in fact I really don't love running... however I am always up for a challenge. I am a bit competitive that way. So, I dragged my other sister in on the "fun" and that is where it ended. I think I ran maybe twice in that three months of prep. The longest distance being 5 miles (I SUCK). Monday before the race my sister and I did a ten miler and it dang near killed me took us about 2 hours (ish). My cardio is good, I do a lot of high intensity stuff at the gym which I think helps. Anyway Saturday was the race. It was in Hobble Creek Canyon which was beautiful! The run was mostly downhill which I thought would make it a little bit easier... I was wrong. My ankles, my knees and my left butt cheek (yep just the left one) were TORE up. It was fun though. I even beat my time from my first half over a year ago by almost 15 minutes. Whoop Whoop! Success... heck I might even do another one someday. The best part was having two of my sisters with me. I love them.

As you know I recently moved from oh so beautiful Southern Cali to Utah (also very beautiful but winter was a weeeee bit too long for my liking). Anywho... I loved Cali. I made some of the most amazing friends on the planet there. One of them happened to be passing through Salt Lake City this weekend with her hubby and kids. I was lucky enough to get to hang out with her for a few hours on Saturday. It was AWESOME! I am so blessed that she was able to squeeze us in. Our daughters were giddy to see each other after so long, and I was pretty giddy to see my friend too. It felt like no time had passed. Here are some fun pictures. We took the kids to dinner and than to play in the fountains at the mall!
